Founded & Managed by Katrina Fanning PSM
 

Katrina is a Wiradjuri woman and a director at Coolamon Advisors, she provides a broad range of expertise across Government Policy and Operations, including a deep understanding and proven capability across Indigenous areas. Katrina has deep public sector experience at SES levels and has been responsible for leading complex operational and policy activities for a number of organisations.

 

Coolamon Advisors is focused on specialist support in the design, management, delivery, and evaluation of Government Policy and Programs. The team has a strong capability in Government Operations, including Procurement, Monitoring and Evaluation, Stakeholder Engagement and Negotiation.

 

Coolamon Advisors have a particular interest and a proven capability in Indigenous Programs and Policy and bring a rare level of experience and credibility in all areas of Indigenous Policy.

 

Most recently, Katrina was the General Manager of Operations and also the General Manager of Strategy, Innovation, and People at Aboriginal Hostels www.ahl.gov.au. In these broad roles, Katrina supported the board and CEO in undertaking the planning and execution of activities for AHL across Australia. Key to these roles was the continual innovation and improvement of the AHL delivery model through the identification of new business opportunities, enhancement of staff capability, the continual management of risk and effective engagement with a broad stakeholder group.

 

 

Meet The Team

Ben - Senior Consultant

Ben is of the Merriam and Mualgal peoples of the Torres Straits. He has a unique blend of public service delivery experience, entrepreneur success, and community leadership. Having been based in North Queensland much of his career; Ben is a proud husband to Marcia Mitchell (nee Salam) and their eight children and was awarded the 2009 North Queensland Father of the Year.

 

Ben joined the National NAIDOC Committee under the leadership of Aden Ridgeway in 2006 and has been Co-Chair since 2009.

Lyn - People and Learning

Lyn is a highly experience and accomplished Human Resource (HR) professional who brings a wealth of experience in people management and learning. She has had an extensive public sector career including several years working at the Senior Executive Service level, mainly in the areas of HR and service delivery strategy. This has given her a deep understanding of the challenges of designing and implementing people strategies to support major change and reform across geographically distributed and culturally diverse workforces

 

She is an experienced facilitator, trainer and coach and has been involved in designing and conducting leadership and management learning programs and customer service improvement, stakeholder and community consultation, co-design, strategic planning and team building workshops.

Qualifications:

  • Graduate Certificate of Management, University of Canberra

  • Certified Professional Australian Institute of Human Resources

  • Certified, Level 2, Organisational Coach, Institute of Executive Coaching and Leadership

  • Accredited to deliver Myer-Briggs Type Indicator and Team Management Index

Nevada - Culture and Capability

Nevada is a Ngunnawal woman with years of experience in presenting on Aboriginal culture, facilitating and delivering learning programs. She brings a unique perspective from the grass-roots, traditional owners and community expectations. Combining these with an ability to understand the strategic objectives of clients and deliver programs that provide immediate back to work benefits to our clients.

 

Nevada is committed to finding practical ways to improve outcomes for Indigenous Australians and knows that this includes building the capacity of all Australians to work with her people.

  • Certificate IV Indigenous Leadership
